Mobility Service Dog Supplies Campaign

mobilityservicedogcampaign
In addition to the above, mobility support dogs need training gear. A mobility support dog may need to come to a Working Dogs For Vets In-House program for basic, advanced, and some task training, such as learning to take one step at a time slowly on a set of stairs, learning to use the mobility support harness, helping veterans in and out of chairs, and some other tasks.  We try to include the disabled veteran in as much of the training as possible and help them to learn commands and work on their bond. However, learning to tackle the support on stairs would not be safe for a disabled veteran until the service dog in training learns to take steps slowly and properly, focusing on staying with the veteran. Other associated costs will be if the dog has to stay for In-House training for approximately 1 to 3 years. Food, sheltering, grooming, veterinary care, pet meds, and other supplies. Estimated $4,000.00. To $12,000.00, depending on how many tasks they must learn.
Bringing total estimated cost to between $7,000.00 to $15,000.00

PTSD Service Dog Supplies Campaign

service dog campaign
In addition to the above post-traumatic stress service dogs needed supplies, a PTSD Dog may need to come to a Working Dogs For Vets In-House program for basic, advanced, and some task training. Such include learning to clear a dark room, turn on light switches, block people from approaching too quickly, and provide medication reminders. And some other tasks.  We try to include the disabled veteran in as much of the training as possible and help them to learn commands and work on their bond. Other associated costs will be if the dog has to stay for In-House training for approximately six months to 1 year—food, sheltering, grooming, veterinary care, pet meds, and other supplies.
Estimated $2,000.00 to $4,000.00.
Bringing the estimated total cost to between $4,000.00 to $6,000.00
However, many veterans have been able to train their service dogs successfully with the level of $1,800.00 support.
