The Power of Peer-Led Systems: Working Dogs for Vets is a 100% peer-led organization. Our leadership team operates with the same "hidden disabilities"—including TBI and learning disorders—that our veterans face daily. This "Lived Experience" has allowed us to develop a Universal Design Communication Model. By prioritizing written-first protocols and meticulous documentation, we ensure that memory challenges and processing delays are never a barrier to service. We don't just provide service dogs; we provide a structured environment where "perfectionism" and "extra time" are respected as tools for excellence.
