Working Dogs For Vets Partners with American Gold Star Mother's Inc. as they launch a National campaign for Military Suicide Awareness.

WASHINGTON, DC -- American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. is launching a national campaign for military suicide awareness with a walk-a-thon in Washington, DC on Saturday, September 23rd, If you cannot be in Washington, you are invited to participate at home - on a treadmill, in a park - ENCOURAGE Friends and Family members to make a donation. Walk-a-Thon Fundraiser Forms are Available at http://www.goldstarmoms.com/walk-a-thon-9-23-17.html All Proceeds will benefit Working Dogs For Vets. 

 

The walk-athon begins at 8:00 AM in front of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial located at 150 Washington Ave SW, it covers 2.2 miles to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The public is welcome, and invited to attend and participate!

 

AGSM has approximately 1,000 members nationwide. Departments and chapters are being challenged to partner with organizations in their area to bring awareness to this national crisis. 

 

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, an average of 22 of our service members and veterans die by suicide daily. More info about military suicide can be found at www.va.gov .
